Our Faith

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. A revelation from God to man and is the infallible rule of faith and conduct. The Bible is superior to conscience and reason. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

THE GODHEAD

Our God is one, but is manifested in three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7). God the Father is greater than all, the Source of the Word (Logos). Jesus became flesh, the manifest person of God, who now sits at the right hand of the Father. The Holy Spirit is now upon the earth sent by Jesus to empower, comfort and guide those who believe. (John 16:7,13)

MAN - HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION

Man is a created being, made in the likeness and the image of God, but through Adam's transgression and the fall, sin came into the world, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the works of satan. He shed his blood to redeem and restore man back to God (I John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from the works and the Law, which is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Ephesians 2:8).

ETERNAL LIFE AND NEW BIRTH

Man's first step towards salvation is godly sorrow which leads to repentance. Jesus said you must be born again to enter the kingdom of God and to inherit eternal life. (John 3:3-5, 2 Corinthians 7:10)

WATER BAPTISM

Baptism in water by immersion is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. This ordinance is symbolic to every believer, identifying them with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4).

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST

The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation. This experience is accompanied by the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance. With it, comes an endowment of power to live holy and to serve others as the body of Christ. (Acts 1:8; 2:4; 2:38-39).

SANCTIFICATION

The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe sanctification is a definite yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of rebirth and continuing until the consummation of salvation. (John 17:17, Hebrews 12:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:23).

DIVINE HEALING

Healing is made available to those who are in Christ. Through Christ’s precious blood we can experience wholeness in our mind, body and spirit. We believe as we ask in prayer through faith and by the laying on of hands we can experience the healing power of God. (Isaiah 53:4-5, James 5:14-16, 1 Peter 2:24).

RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND THE RETURN OF OUR LORD

We believe in the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ. When Jesus returns for His bride, the dead in Christ will rise first and those alive and remaining will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. The church is not to endure Gods wrath. (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17; 5:9).

HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION

The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. (Psalm 9:17; Revelation 21:8)
